Just ordered a set of 3rd gen. projectors!

I just ordered a set of projectors for my SS. I am so excited I can't wait to get them. Ordering a set of 6000k HID's with 50 watt ballasts from 3B as soon as I get them!

Just a quick question, 3rd gens are H1's for both highs and lows?

Yes they are both H1 for the highs and lows.

You will not be disappointed with the headlights with the HID's. I have the 3rd gens with 5K HID's from 3B specialties and the light output is amazing!!

Doesn't the aiming just use adjuster on the back? What makes them such a pain in the rear?

yeah, there are 2 screws on the back under the projector. outer screw moved the projector diagonal and the inner moved it left and right. The problem is that the screws are at the bottom of the projector which means you have the pull the headlight out to aim it!

I bought a set of these back in January. They look amazing but the glare with HID's is terrible, there is a massive amount of light that is produced above the cutoff line due to the "squirrel spotters" attached to the cut off shield. You will light up overhead signs on highways and when you pull up behind someone the light will shine right up in thier vehicle. You need to take the projectors apart, take off the "squirrel spotter" on each one and fill the screw hole in with muffler putty or some other high heat filler. The squirrel spotter allows the light of the less bright halogens (which are recommended) to illuminate road signs etc.. there is a sticker on the projectors which says "HID's not allowed" it is there for a reason, the glare is far more dangerous that putting HID's in your stock housing. Since I have modified mine I have ZERO glare above the cut off line.

Just and FYI

Thanks for the info but you are honestly the first person I heard of that says that there is a lot of glare. I've done A LOT of research on these and not one person from the hundreds of projector threads on this site and others said that there is a glare issue. Maybe you got a bad set?

They do give off glare above the cutoff line, a lot on the drivers side for me. So all you need to do is take them apart and fill the hole? Do I need to take the whole headlight apart or how do I go about this?
