Thanks everybody, I wasn't even sure I liked these at first
Anyways, I'm thinking of running a new fog switch for these. Where is the fog switch in stock cars that come with fogs? Anyone know where I can pick up the stock switch, I'd like to keep it as stock looking as I can.

Then try again

I love the idea. I think it'd be cool if either they were sequential.. like from the inside out on a turn signal.. or if they were color changing LEDs - yellow for turn signals, and white for running lights.. thought it might be kinda cool.
I dig it. whats it look like when they're not in in the daytime? like are they hidden away a little bit? like would i see them in a parking lot and be like......wtf is that terrible contraption.
I'm imagining it looking good, just wondering.

They don't look half bad during the day, when everything is off. I'll take a picture when I get off from work. I was thinking of HID's but I'm not going with another set of eBay projectors that fried my fusebox costing me over $800 in repairs, and HID's in stock.... ehhh no thanks. Thanks for the feed back though!

people should really use an aftermarket relay kit with HIDS.
hold on I can find it for you. But to everyone running HIDs in a cobalt. Get this.

not gona happen. stock reflectors and HIDS s are a severe fail

they look nice.. i think they could use to be longer though or put the m on the outside.. great job
you assuming this is severe fail.. i had someone behind me with 4300k hids in stock housings and it wasn't bad at all .. was it brighter.. yes.. but blinding.. no optimal.. not a chance.. but not as bad as I would've expected
no. its so you dont burn up your stock electrical system running Hids off it.

Ok so I had an epiphany. Something that'd confuse the officers of the law while adding an extra legal goodness.
Earlier somebody mentioned trying a multi color deal, but it was to have only a section of a strip turn orange/white orange/white.
well, what if it was done like the pic below. Notice that there are 4 strips, 2 whites(which are front facing), and 2 orange(which have a less ominous front/very visible on corners). What I'd do is wire the oranges to the side markers/turn signals. This way you'd get a legal turn blink without having an illegal side viewing color(which u would get ticketed on). Then for the led white front fogs, wire em up to a fog switch as suggested. that way if you go into a **** cop town in a state that says fogs are illegal when fog isn't present, you can flick em off and still retain the cool turn signals.
DON'T HATE ON THE PIC, I DID IT IN 30 SECONDS ON PAINT.NET LOL
Personally speaking, I feel this combo would look clean during the day and straight up mean at night, especially with retrofit projectors and led side marker replacement.

One step at a time, my fiancée isn't super keen on me wasting money like this... my next step was going to be underglows but she shot down that idea so maybe i'll pick up some LED side markers next pay day. If you replace the blinkers with LED's you need some kind of rectifier or something to have them blink at the normal speed right? Anyone got a link to that?
As for retro fits, ehhh I had a bad time with my gen2 projectors... burned out my fuse box, cost like $800 to repair... not really looking forward to that again.

if you replace the front side markers with led replacements, you need to purchase 2 6 ohm led turn signal resistors. a quick search on these forums will find ya what ya need. It's the same deal we go through with led tail lights.
i think you should do the orange strips though first, as then you'd have that hella mean night look, and then switching to led side markers would compliment it further.
mainly i'm just being selfish, cause i wanna see it done before i go drilling into my bumper haha
i just got most the pricing for my future retrofit, should get it finished for under 500 using good stuff w/ the item earlier presented which solves any potential issues. just a question of what kinda priority imma put it. a lot of cash, probably slated for December lol.

lol nice, thanks for the tips. I gotta see if i can even get orange led strips... it'd be easy to wire up them for blinkers though. Oh and what's the base type for side markers?
Btw, if you got the slots like my bumber does you don't need to drill any wholes, there are little tiny vent holes if you run your fingers around in there you can find them.
