Has anyone used the CREE headlight bulbs or foglight bulbs? They make up to 100 watts and over 6000 lumens.. which would in theory make most hids look like child's play.. they're a tad expensive, but it's an led.. should last forever and they're plug and play..

Has anyone tried them?

Would you believe me if I told you the truth?
Led bulbs are a lie. They claim to make 6000 lumens but what are the ACTUAL usable lumens? 2500? Probably. Do not put led bulbs in anything besides a led based projector. Preferably bi-led. They exist. The output is getting better. But hids on a hid projector are still king.

If you are going to do a conversion on your headlights. Do hids. I will hate you but it's w/e. If u stick with halogen then that makes me happy. If u put leds. Ur gonna have a giant ball of glare with a tiny bit of USABLE light.

I know this stuff cuz I make retros. These things have been debunked multiple times. I cringe when a seller tries to push new products with shitty results. You claim as much as you want but the real world it's a diff story.

 

I do believe you, and thank you for that response, I actually pmd you back about some retros so hopefully you can make me some that will work haha
