Other then price, what would the differences be? Would the inserts be an easy mod?

reigh........is that a comittment? lol

1gm: inserts require you to bake your stock tails and glue the boards in place. It's the same process that I take to get the job done, but a lot of people are confident that they can do it themselves to save money. I can provide a how-to if need be.

I would prefer the complete replacements in that case. I live in an apartment, and don't want to try baking anything like that in the oven. lol...

ok no problem. it's not as bad as i make it sound...210 degrees for 10 minutes softens up the sealer enough that you can get the housings apart without damaging them, and certainly not long enough in the oven to even come CLOSE to melting them.....the plastic can withstand much higher temps and be OK. They can actually be handled right out of the oven...

Disclaimer: no one should ever put an object in the oven and deliberatly remove it from the oven with their bare hands...bodily injury could occur if you're not safe about it...

So for a idea of what the light would look like heres a little paint picture i made.
Would that be kinda what they would look like? The left being with either the turn signals or reverse lights on and the right just the running lights on. First is option 3, then 1, then2. And is the $125 for inserts or for replacements?

How big is is this insert going to be?
Will each LED have a resistor so they wont all go out when one burns out?
Will replacement of a single LED be possible with your boards?
How will these mount inside of the housing?
Sorry for all the questions, Im just really interested in these!
I toyed with making them myself, the retrofit would be a sinch to me but the LED wiring in would not be my thing!

BlackBalt: what the hell did you do!? lol. you're close, but the inners are not setup to be turnsignals in the center...they are the reverse lights......... you're spot on with the right side, but the left side is, well, wow... first, the led's on the outers are ALL red, no yellow. Yellow LED's would be very useless behind the stock tail red lens.

TSA: sure, people could do that, if you like that look.....personally, i think they're ugly and I wouldnt want my car to look like it has a tractor trailor light in it......

05REDROCKET: The inserts for the outers are 4" round, they fit perfectly at the end of the beveled reflectors inside. The inners will be smaller. No, there will be 1 resistor for every 4 led's. 1 resistor per led is overkill and will create a lot of heat. If an led dies, I will fix it under warranty. To mount the inserts, you can use something along the lines of either Hot Glue or JB Weld(my favorite).

Also, i'de like to note that these will be somewhat plug n play ready. the outer inserts will have a 3157 bulb base and the inners will have a T10 bulb base. They only work 1 way, so if they dont light up...DONT PANIC, just flip the base around... The outer red ring on the inners will have 12" of wire, you will have to supply the additional wire needed to go to the turn signals or running lights(depending how you want to use it)...

Ric: committing?

Wicked: inserts or replacements?

Hm.. I vote for inserts... It would only be a small amount of labor compared to having to buy full replacements...

I wasnt meaning the leds would be yellow, i was showing that the reds would be the running lights and the yellows are what comes on when you turn or reverse. I know the reverse lights will be white and the turn signals will be red but i wanted to accent what they would look like when they are on as opposed to just the running lights. Heres the image with the real colors:
