So I bought a new SS lip for my front bumper: went to the dealer and the retainers (which are hardly retainers) run $5 a piece. GMPartsDirect want $76 plus shipping for 26 clips.

So this is my idea... Binder Clips...

 

So I was talking to my dad and we were brain storming....

I need to get one size bigger on the clip to work better, but this is my idea for $10 SS Lip kit CLips. OEM $5 clip is on the right side.




The one size bigger has a bit thicker clip, but it still gives a tiny bit of give so the clip won't break on the lip if I were to snag it on something (That's my goal).

I think it will work. I know I hated on the original retainer on my first post, but mainly because i'm not going to spend $138 on clips just to have my front and rear lip secured.

 

i used the right stuff and glued the lip to my bumper looks great and holds great

 

hook posted a thread a couple weeks ago about some clips he found at an ordinary auto parts store. Seemed to work out pretty well

 

I ended up saying screw it and bought factory clips

 

those ones would have worked also
