denting? no, my trunk is fine.

well (of course) the hardest part is getting all the damn glue off, but as for putting it on, same thing all i could think of is the glues being a pain possibly.

I just installed my low profile, traded my high mount for a low pro this week. And as was stated the PIA is getting all the factory double sided tape (goo) off the trunk. I used fishing line to help slice thru the adhesive, but in doing so I scratched up my trunk lid. Dont ask me how. Today I got all the goo off and did some buffing of the scratches there better but not great. Gonna look into geting the top of the trunk lid painted. Shouldnt cost very much.

I havent yet. I plan on going to a paint and body shop on monday to see what its gonna cost to paint the top of the trunk lid. So I just have it bolted down. Once I do secure it for good I will use a product call "The right stuff". Its a rtv sealent and sticks great.
You can get it a advanced discount auto parts. I have used it in the past swapping out rear spoilers on other cars and works great.
Just make sure you clean both surfaces good with isopropyl alcohol.

Well while I was at Walmart this morning getting stuff for the week, I picked up an inexpensive orbital buffer and 3 different grits of polishing compound, to try and fix my scratches and sanding marks from the spoiler removal. I have to say it almost looks like new. No need to bring the car to a paint shop and have the trunk shot.
Only marks that are still left are from the original bases from the high mount spoiler, since it was on my car for 30k+ and being put thru the forces of the wind during that time. Near some of the corners the bases wore marks into the paint and some of those are past the paint.
So what will do next to fix those few spots is get some body puddy and fill the low spots. then wet sand, then use touch up paint, wet sand again, then use my new inexpensive buffer. Which has paid for it self, by me not having to go to a body shop.
Happy with the out come of trading spoilers after all. And I love the low pro spoiler, can see out the rear view mirror.

Well I hated my high spoiler. Just for that reason, and at 42yrs old I dont need that kid racer look. If it werent for the holes I would have left it off. But the middle ground is the low pro spoiler. And I like it. And I can see out the back.
