lower grill?

i love the look of the s/c with no lower grill. i was wandering if it is hard to take out and there are any dangers of removing it? i either want to remove it or put another grille there instead.

The SS/SCs come without a grille stock. So you don't have to remove anything because there is nothing there. I personaly like having something there so I made my own. Here is a pic.

If you take out the grille... ya' oughta sell it on Classifieds... I'm gonna be wanting one soon.

Oh sorry bro, my fault. Either way it's just a couple plastic pins that hold the grille on. It should be able to be easily removed.

All I did was go to Home Depot and buy a big square of mesh kind of like gutter guard and cut it to fit. Instead of using those plastic pins I replaced them with stainless steal bolts. Here is a link on exactly how to do it. That should help.

The lower grille is a safety issue... with that big opening there are a lot of things that can get in down there... rocks... animals... etc. Could do some major damage to the radiator/AC condenser/whatever that thing is hanging down there.

I don't understand why GM didn't put the lower grille in the SS/SC...

If anyone is looking for a lower grille, Crutchfield.com has a nice lower grille. I got that for my SS and I bought the upper one so that it matched and it looks nice. I posted some pics a few week back.

You already have what looks best on orange IMHO.
One of the first mods I did was to buy the lower grill.
I think on an orange car the stock grills look way better than a billet or mesh grill.

I may paint mine a darker black eventually, but I love the way it looks.

Just my .02

Mine was full of squirrel after a week, so bugs aren't so bad, lol

But yes, the lower grill should be on the to-do list for all SC owners.
