Lower grill & fog light area

I bought an 05 coupe & noticed in the lower grill area there is a black plastic finned piece that goes around my fog lights & the center part of my lower grill.Looking at everybodys front end on here,theirs dont have it.Is this something that can be removed?THANKS

the SS bumbers are different. They don't have the plastic "fins" in the fog light area, or in the center. As far as being removed, i'm not sure. Sorry.

Yes they can be removed...there at small tabs that hold the inserts in, but as for the fog light pieces...you have to take apart the inner fender to get them out.

I'm not sure if the foglights are molded into the plastic...they might be.

There are 4 different front facias on the Cobalts. The base model has a completely molded front end, where the grill and corners are all part of the same piece of plastic. The Up-level cars (non-ss) have the grills has separate, removable inserts. This was done to facilitate the option of Fog Lights.


Then on the SS models, the regular SS has the Fog light housing molded right into the facia, give a smooth, contoured look. The SS/SC add a lip kit to the bottom edge.
