I have a 2006 LS Cobalt and i don't like the front bumper.I also don't like any ground effects or spoilers or I would have bought the SS.Does any one have pic of an SS bumper(w/o lip) on a base model?will it hang too low even with no SC lip?

The SS front fascia is approximately 2" lower then the LS Fascia -- when you install the SS fascia on a base model you also need the left and right braket that fills it in. Search for a thread by halfcent about fascias (not bumpers). If you use the GM mud gaurds it breaks up the bodyline so it doesn't look bad if you don't get the side skirts.

the LS/LT air dam won't work with the SS front fascia (this is the black flap that goes all the way around the fascia underneath. The SS models have an air dam that goes under the radiator -- attached by 2 plastic fasteners and 2 areas go between the radiator and brackets.

 

This car is a LS with the sides installed too

 

i have an ss bumper on mien with the holes made for the lip. when i get home i'll send you a pic of it. it looks better... trust me

 

With the front bumper and no side skirts, it would look uneven since they match up exactly. I'd suggest doing sideskirts, rear bumper, and front if you want it to look okay.
