Just a VIN different. (ok that was a lame attempt at humour)

Not a Sebring
a "true SS clone" would have an LE5/LSJ under the hood, as well as the FE3/FE5 suspension. It'd be alot easier to just get an SS or an SS/SC than to attempt to clone a 2.2 into an SS or SS/SC.

Yea... you guys say it's easier, however, since he would have to SELL his car, and selling his car would put him upside down in his loan, it is not as easy as it sounds (I already tried doing this, every where i went, blue book said about 10... they only wanted to give me 5,) any way... theres also another factor, if you are mechanically inclined, then just buy the SS suspension and put it in... then take it one step further and turbo charge the 2.2 rather than dropping in the 2.0 supercharged, you'll get bette mileage AND if and only IF you can find some one to tune it with the turbo, it will probably kick the crap out of alot of supercharged models (unless they are stage three equiped... then good luck.)
anyway, if you have some mechanical skill, it is actualy cheeper to "clone" the SS, it's where the interior is concerned that youre going to have some difficulty. Unless, of course, youre a jack of all trades and are good and apholstry too!
any way, thats my opinion (and my auto instructor said it was pretty feesable too, and he's a ASE certified master tech, so theres some professional insight as well)

Not quite. The Impala is actually a Caprice 9C1 (police option code) just a civilian model, and a different VIN code, grill, and floor console shift. Otherwise they are the EXACT same car. *MY 94-96 specific*

Just get a salvage (body damage) 400HP GTO, cut and weld the chassis for size and then fit the LT body on it. Call it an SSS.
Then worry about installing the turbo!
