you know when i saw your original post i was like ohh no this probly wont go to well (based off other cars iv seen try it) but you really took the job and made it work. i love how you made it functional and molded it into your hood. i dont think you can get a good look at it based off your pictures, and being red. but overall i like it,

Thanks. I appreciate that. Trust me, there is a god 12-15 hours in labor involved in making this thing come together.

Nice work I must say, but i think its way to small for our hoods. If it was a bigger scoop or duals I may like it. As long as you like it, its all that matters.

Is the scoop sealed to the air intake?

No, I am still figuring out a way to do that to make it a truly functional scoop. As of right now when I am below 60, air is evacuating out of the scoop from the engine bay, above 60 air is bouncing off of the windshield and being forced into the engine bay. At least I have cooler air in the engine bay now.

It does seem off in that picture, but it is straight. The measurements we took prior and after installation match, and the distances between the scoop to the corners of the hood are within 1mm of each other. Strange how that pic makes it look off.

You guys think I should put a black stripe down the center? I have had a few people suggest that, but I think it would be a little over the top.

what about water getting in there? and do you have a short ram? you could have offset it over it and it would look like the 90's eclipses and talons with the bump in the hood, except it would be functional.

looks good tho

No water gets in there. I have taken it to the car wash twice since painting it on Sunday and not a single drop has gotten into the engine bay through the scoop. That was astonishing to me. I thought about offsetting it, but I just didn't like the look. This project was basically for looks and any performance benefits I got out of it were just a bonus. I will say this though, when I am sitting at a light, my water temps don't skyrocket like they ususally do. It never goes above 185 when idling with my fans off anymore. Plus after it has been running for a while and I park it and come back out a few minutes later, same sort of thing. The temps don't go above 195. The scoop has turned out to be a much more efficient heat extractor than expected. If you put your hand in front of it while idling, you can feel the heat coming out of it all the way to the windshield.

I mocked the scoop on my hood both ways and just thought it looked more natural facing the windshield due to the contour of the scoop and hood. Plus I figured I would have a lot less water and debris issues getting into the engine bay that way.

As stated earlier, I don't expect everyone to like it. That is why we all do different things to our cars. I personally don't like the style hood you are putting on your car because it looks like a BBQ grille, but if you like the way it looks then that is what matters most. I am not taking a shot at you becuase I had seen that hood before and made the same comment. Although what really looks bad is driving around with an unpainted body kit on your car. I hope you can at least appreciate the amount of work and attention to detail it takes to mold a scoop into a hood.
