More head light info
It all depends on what color you're looking for. 4300k is right around the stock color. 6000k is more of a pure white color with a hint of blue. 8000k is more of a blue color, and anything higher than that is kind of stupid. I say this because the higher you go, the less light output you see in front of the car. Also, the higher you go, the more purple the light starts to become. People on here will say not to go higher than 6000k, but others will say 8000k is fine too. It just depends on what you're looking for. Personally I want more of a blue look, so I got 8000k. You can get them off eBay for a decent price. What generation projector do you want to get?
I hope to become a sponsor soon, but can provide some insight for you as to what you want to look for in an HID kit.
4500k is the ballpark that most OEM manufacturers of HIDs utilize. The projector cutoff is where you get your colors from (blues/purples, etc). That color will give you the most light output in terms of lumens.
However, I sell mainly the 6000k and 8000k bulb colors because they provide a crisper light, and quite frankly, people prefer the color (as do I).
You will notice a decrease in light output the higher you go on the Kelvin scale, and typically don't want anything higher than an 8000k bulb.
Also, with whatever kit you get, make sure you get digital ballasts and a lifetime warranty. Some still only offer a 3 month to 1 year warranty, but make sure you find someone with a lifetime warranty and good customer service, because a lot of your lower end kits will fail quite readily, leaving you out your money.

Here's the kit I got in 8000k. Decent price and a pretty good warranty. There are a few people on here that have this kit as well.
These are 1st generations:

These are 2nd generations:

These are 3rd generations:

The 1st and 3rd generations are NOT plug and play. This means you will have to wire them yourself. The 1st generation is also NOT CCFL. The 2nd and 3rd generation lights are CCFL (which stands for Cold Cathod Flourescent Lamp and is about 3x brighter than regular LED). The 2nd generation is also 100% plug and play. Which means you just unplug your stock housings and plug these back in. Depending on which set of lights you get will tell you which HID kit to get. 1st and 3rds take H1 bulbs while the 2nds take H7.

Oh man, that stinks! I love the color of CCFL...they really are super bright. The 3rd gens. look nice though with the LEDs along the bottom.
