well depending on what sytle muffler you plan on getting, just make sure whatever it is is a offset inlet/offset outlet design because that is what works best on our cars. if you are getting a straight thru design then just ignore what i just said 
as far as length goes, just buy a piece of 18" tailpipe and that will be more then enough to extend to where you need it to go
