My CF trunk is looking hazy?
not spreding lies......just unsure....most carbon companies use a clear gel coat and not an actual clear coat....thus why you get the nasty hazing from sun deterieration. you guys buy from cf tech correct? or do you in house your stuff? also ive read you use ppg clear.....if thats the case it shouldnt be hazing....but then again its ppg so anything can happen.
i will reword my post to correct the information. sorry about that.

You guys are only assuming it's one of our trunks, it still hasn't been verified. And to be honest, if it's hazing, it's probably not one of ours. Whysomadson is correct about it being the gel coat that hazes, and most manufactures simply use a clear gel coat finish, which results in this problem. The reason most manufactures won't clear their products is because of the increased chances of air bubbles (fish eyes, etc.) that occur as air escapes the material and works its way out.
If pics of both sides of the trunk can be posted perhaps we can determine where it is from. If it turns out it is one of ours, I will help out where ever possible, but I seriously have my doubts.

a 60 minute bake cycle at 140-160 degrees in a booth should cure the carbon parts really good leading to less problems when you paint it....if you clear carbon fiber you should be sanding it flat and buffing it out. orange peel looks like poo.
