I saw the design, the rear looks sort of like mine, except that you are getting squared ones, mine are kind of pointy on the inside. Oh and side note to you if you are gonna install them yourself. Vynil + trunk curves = death. It took my stepbrother and myself three tries to get the right stripe on the trunk on correctly. So I rocked on trunk stripe a majority of senior year two years ago lol.

In reality, someone who doesn't know about 2.4L will assume its a 2LT.

Then you will run into the problem of this senario, if you street race and some kid beats you they will bitch and complain that "hey I beat an SS." Which is why I want GM to make like an RS so if they took out an SS, it would be the more powerful motor in the family lol.

Side note: to make things more confusing, if GM did the ordering for the Cobalt like they are doing the Camaro, we would see RS 2.4, RS 2.2, RS/SS 2.0 which is gonna be funny to see in the next months with the V6 and V8 models both able to get RS packages.

The 2.2 and 2.4 are the same, minus VVT and some bored out goodness. The LSJ is based off 2.2 (correct me if I'm wrong) but it has beefier parts such as rods.

The 2.2 and the 2.4 and pretty much the same, Just some minor differences. The lsj in quite a bit different IIRC, But i do believe it is somewhat based off the 2.2

i think the only arguements about "ss" is when people with 2.2 get an ss body kit and badges, or when sport's try to put on ss badges. i don't see any problems with am '05-'07 2.4 having ss badges....because its an ss

I guess that works but you will have people ask, "is that an SS?" I get that crap all the time thanks to the high rise. Which is fine because I love my 2.2L. I was at the track with my car club and some Mustang guys come over and ask "is that an SS?" I'm like, nope, you see the black cobalt? Thats a turbo, with 260, and the blue and red cobalts, those are supercharged with 205. How much power you got? 145 at the crank. They were like oh thats a big drop. Then I think to myself, wait 55HP estimated with a blower, lol.

I don't have that problem but having 2.4 on my trunk probably helps.

After a 10 min google search, it appears it is correct that a lsj is a destroked 2.2 l61.

This what i found on the 2.4 "The LE5 is a larger 2.4 L — 2376 cc (144.9 cu in) — version of the Ecotec. Both the 88 mm (3.5 in) bore and 98 mm (3.9 in) stroke are larger, and Variable Valve Timing on the intake and exhaust improve low-end torqu"

L61 is 86x94.6mm bore/stroke with a 10:1 compression ratio.
LSJ is 86x86mm bore/stroke with 9.5:1 compression ratio.
LE5 is 86x98mm bore/stroke with 10.4:1 compression ratio.
