well yeah but the 2.2 was never anything more than an ls/lt car in the cobalt lineup so its kinda obvious its not gonna be an ss car hahah

New Si shifters are god-like. My stepdad sells Hondas and wanted me to drive the Si. I loved the interior since its leaps and bounds better than my LS with nothing powered. But the shift throws were like sex lol.

At the end of the day I wanna pay off my car and not get a torque-less wonder and go further into debt.

True, but some may do some crazy-ass turbo and push more power than a base 2.4 and 2.0 SC output and might call it an SS. I think in my opinion, if someone does that then they deserve to have an SS badge. Now, if someone just slaps an SS on a 2.2 with walmart hubcaps we got a problem. I know after I do my cams and ****, I'll be about 170ish I hope, will I call the car an SS? Never, because I like making people ask "is that an SS?"

haven't had the chance to drive the new Si's so i'll take your word on the shifter. my TL is a sport shift so don't get much excitement or feel of the knob.

Its real nice, now granted I still need to be 100% comfy with using a manual and I have an auto. But since at work I deal with Cobalts and inventory all day the throws on a new turbo are long compared to the Si.

no. if your car was built in a non ss trim. it shall forever be in a non ss trim, no matter how much power you have.

ballard and whitfield are both running 2.16's with a little over 900whp, both running low/mid 9's....and they don't call their car an ss, and no one ever has.

Agreed.

Just like my ESI has more power than a TSI but im not gonna throw a TSI badge on it.

If i had an ls with 500hp id keep the ls badge just for the lolz when people think "oh its just an ls i can take it"
