New buyer cobalt ss- help!!!!

Hey guys,

Been looking around threads and finally decided to join this great forum!

I currently own a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 Coupe. I fell in love with the Cobalt SS though, and plan to purchase one in the next few months.

I got a few questions and hopefully I can get some insight:

1. Looking for an Automatic for sure (Wifey would be driving it)..... I noticed you cant get one with the lower valence, or bumper valence is there a reason for this?

2. In the Automatics, do they not offer the SC or TC?
( is only a plain eco tec motor offered?)

3. Has anyone seen an Automatic with a SC or TC and the whole body package?
I know itd be an additional 1-2 grand to add these things onto a plain 05-06 cobalt ss ( 6-7 grand). Is it worth it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is no such thing as an automatic SS/SC or SS/TC, only the manual 5 speed was offered for these two models.

If I were you I'd just teach the wife how to drive the 5speed. I drove a 5 speed cobalt awhile back and it was definitely one of the easier manual trans vehicles I've driven.but if it has to be an auto there's always the option of gettin a regular cobalt and throw a zzp supercharger or turbocharger kit on it

You could get an HHR SS with an auto. It also has an LNF but you can get an automatic.

It's definitely not an SS/SC. Could be an SS with a lip kit but there were no SS/SC or SS/TCs that were made in an automatic. Check under the hood unless someone did some swapping its not an SS/SC.

Get a HHR SS/TC. They have the Wifey's Edition lol. The dealership that I bought my cobalt told me about them. They are the perfect car for a girl haha

Any link online?

HHR's are gheyyy

I found this:

ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2005-Chevrolet-Cobalt-SS-Coupe-Supercharged-W0QQAdIdZ249850622

what about this as my possible project car to turn into an automatic? decent price I think (Lowball to $3500-4000, and sell my 02 gt1 for 2500).
Or should I just get a ss/na 2.4L and put a lip package and SC on it myself?
which would be the cheaper option?

If possible, try not to get a car that had accidents. I would say if you have to spend your money, spend them right. You will pay $ 4500 plus all the money to fix it, when you can find a S/C for 10k average, with no accidents behind and no damages.
I agree with one of the posts above, it is better to teach her how to drive it, it takes only a little bit, other than spending thousands for a car that you won't like

More than likely just a 2.4 and the person listing it was unaware of an n/a SS.
