New Katzkin Dark Graphite Interior, just received it today

Hello,

I sold my racing seats now and just received my katzkin dark cobalt leather interior and cant wait to get this installed in my black cobalt. This is a full kit. It is going to look amazing. I got alot of extra leather too so i can wrap my cloth that is in the middle of the door so it will match with the seats perfect. Here are just a few pictures and as i start to install them, i will take progress pics. Anyone have any luck installing this leather on here as I am going to do this myself.

Hope you Enjoy,

Josh

Yeah it should definatly be higher quality...i know when i was on their site it had 2 or 3 different options as far as what leather to use. Would thinking of getting them if i keep the car...what'd they run you if you don't mind me asking?

Purchased them locally from a Auto reupholstery company that went out of business due to the economy for alot
less than the $750 price these sell for. I have a receipt showing the $750 though.

I have a set of the same seats, but only the front that I got from the guy that had his on the classifieds for awhile.

The difference is the katzkin is a real leather.. OEM i don't think is real leather. Either way they are the best damn seat covers you could get

I just need to find out how much for the rears

Did you install the fronts yourself. If so, how hard was it. Also, Does anyone know if i will need new hog rings and hog ring pliers?

Hey,

Does anyone know if i will need to put new hog rings as i think it will be easier than reusing the stock ones. I see in the video they just cut them off and install new ones and i found this kit on ebay with 200 hog rings and hog pliers for around $15 shipped. Is it necessary for hog pliers as it seems regularly pliers would work too with new hog rings. I also read on a forum saying it is easier to use zip ties instead of hog rings.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Hog-rings-and-pl...3%3A1|294%3A50

Update:

I have contacted and sent out a few emails now and believe I am going to need the 3/4" hog rings so the ones above not sure if they will work because there 1/2". I will keep everyone posted on this so if you decide on the install then you will know exactly what to order. Pics will be coming along as I start this project.

Well everyone,

I am back from florida and started putting on the leather interior on my back seat and its looking awesome. I am taking lots of pictures and will upload them tonight to show you how to do the back seat so far. Hopefully we can turn this into a how to for everyone. Here is the auction i won on ebay for the hog rings and pliers and there working perfect. Without this tool you probably couldnt do this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EOIBSA:US:1123

The hog rings are fitting perfect and tight too. Will post pictures tonight with a video also.

Here is the start of the back seat with videos. I cut all the hog rings off and put the new ones i ordered off ebay on the seat. I havent did the upper part for the back seat yet as i have my amp screwed in the back of the seat but will probably do that tommorow after work and will post more pictures. I hope you enjoy.

Good choice, katskins makes some of the nicest stuff in the industry. I installed a complete kit in my cobalt last year. Did the seats and door panels myself, the install is not too bad, the outcome is SICKNESS,lol.....

Did you have any waves at all when you did your install. I see it shows online that after the install to run the heat in your car for 2 hours to help out the leather and smooth it out. I am wondering if there is any other way. I see you need special cleaner too for the katskin too. I think my backseat so far came out pretty good. I cant wait to finish the rest as it will totally change my interior and look perfect on my black car.

when i first did the install, it kinda showed some lines and stuff from the way they packed it in the box, but it smoothed out perfectly after a few days. Just use your hands to work the material in a manner that will smooth it out. These pics are right after or during the install, they look even better now, they have smoothed out alot... If you need anything along the way, let me know.

$450 for complete set as the company went out of business. This kit sells online for $750.

I will be posting up videos too on how to cut out the old hog rings and install the new ones as i did a few videos when doing the backseats so you can get a good idea and will also be doing more when i do the front seats this weekend.
