I'm not knocking the craftsmanship, I am stating the roll cage is SO unnecessary.

#1 it's not a roll cage. It's a roll bar.

#2 it's very unsafe. Even if you pad that if you get into an accident your head can crack like an Egg on that thing. It's never recommended to put a cage in a street car because you won't always be wearing a helmet when you drive. Pad it asap to attempt to keep your skull in 1 piece in an accident.

1# its not a roll bar its a roll cage (some what)

A roll bar is a single bar behind the driver, such as on the audi TT's

Roll cage is more then one bar. What i have is technically a half cage because its not infront of the driver

You only pad the parts of a roll cage thats infront of the driver.

thats a broken neck waiting to happen. the "harness bar" section is too close to the seats. if you get rear ended hard enough, the cage is going to push forward and the bar is going to smack you in the back of the head and kill you. take that **** out and at least redo that part. its not a good design.

Wouldn't bring that thing around here... Showing up to an event with a non-functional roll cage would probably result in instant flaming (rice)....

But I do have to give you points for your effort... It is a pita to get anything like that in the back of our cars so I can imagine the amount of work you put into it...

Meh, I'm not a fan of the roll cage really.. I mean it's eye candy sure, but it's kind of pointless. I stripped my rear seats and trunk out too, but I never carry anything in the trunk or have people in the back. I also have tints so you can't even see the back is gutted.

Saves weight? Sure.

Enough to matter? Probably not.

Why do it then? Makes me feel better.

The seats are all the way back in the pictures

And also if i was rear ended hardenough to push that cage forward, id be dead anyway, cage or no cage, think about it

no you wouldnt, because the car has crumple zones. when the car crushes like its designed to, those bars are going forward. my sister spun around and hit a pole backwards. if that would have been in her car she would have died. a friend of mine was rear ended by a drunk. same stiuation. if that is a prototype, you should fix that.
