I'm not sure where they got that information from but a much more reputable source states that the wing is not functional at all. There is a post by powell somewhere on here explaining his statement

I'm open to seeing this source given the stuff I posted. Not saying you're wrong just that everything that I've found points out that it is functional and I've yet to find any facts proving that it doesn't... just people who took theirs off making claims without any proof.
