I have an 08 sport and i wanna get my rear window and side rear 5% tint, i was wondering if i drive into another state where it would be illegal they could still give me a ticket right even though its legal in the state its licensed, also does like turning on your rear defroster in the winter hurt your tint at all, thanks for any info

 

i think your tint will be fine from a defroster.

not sure about the laws tho. 5% seems stooopid to me anyway

 

I'm almost positive that they can't ticket you for it since it's legal in your home state. Defroster does not hurt it.

 

ya when ur out of state all they can do is give u a warning cause ur vechical isnt regastered in that state. for example my friend has a 90 gsx eclipse has a straight pipe exsaughst with no cat. he got pulled over in another state and got a 100.00 ticket called the juge and they denied the ticket so he didnt have to pay since that car didnt have to pass emissions in our state but in utah u do. HINT if u do get pulled over tell them it was already on ur car when u bought ive gotten out of 2 to 3 tickets saying that. or u have a appointment to get it off.

But defroster wont hurt it... And out of state, out of touch.... Cant be ticketed

 

and i don't think state police really care about the back tint, just the front 2 windows. i think that the laws they have are for just the front 2 windows. like in jersey you can do whatever to the back windows but the front 2 and windshield even if you have any tint at all you get ticketed.

but than again i'm not 100% sure.

 

Yea.. in NC you can go as dark as you want on the back windows. Driver and passenger window = 35% Windshield = no tint.
