Odd Question..

So, long story short, friend was helping me to sound deaden my vehicle, and broke off the metal clip/fastener on the driver's side C-Pillar. When he tried to pull it out, he actually wound up pushing it inside the panel, and it's rattling pretty badly. I've tried everything short of actually cutting the panel open to remove it (and would like to avoid that if at all possible), so I'm looking for suggestions on fixing my rattle.

Another friend mentioned it might not be a bad idea to buy the expanding foam sealer in a can and try to spray it inside the panel-- thoughts?

Do you have any magnetic retrievers, or do you think you can somehow pull it from any access port? Nothing worse than foaming a pillar shut, only to find you've essentially created an access-proof compartment where the ****'s free to rattle! I wouldn't recommend spray foam as much as I'd recommend spray-tack adhesive and a "straw" off of some WD-40 can - if you can hit it, it'll adhere to something, and rattle no more.

IIRC the C pillar is the one on the back drivers side of the car.

basically they "snap" the top metal snap broke off and got pushed inside the frame and now its rattling like a **** in there and hes annoyed as hell by it

i would say expanding foams probably your option without cutting the thing open.

dont foam it IMO, you dont want to cause a bigger headache. i have a parts car at home right now, let me take the C Pillar off and see what it looks like down in there, and if i find a good way to get to it, i will let you know.

Thanks for the responses guys. I haven't done anything about it yet. To be specific, it's the pillar on the rear passenger's side. I don't really want to foam it, for the reasons you all mentioned.. But I've tried fishing it out.. Tried magnets, etc. :/
