Well was at work today and found some black vinyl laying around, extra, and applied it halfass to my SS and it looks decent. They said if I come in early 2morrow I can paint it on myself. The props for working at a body shop. Probably goin with Satin Black, and if I don't like it later on just re-paint...I'll post pics up when I'm done.

Crappy day all day today and I forgot my camera at home so I couldn't take any pics while I was in the building nor in the oven...

I will try to get better pics as soon as it clears up more.

Alright, I did the evo mod on my SS and I'm not sure of what exactly I did wrong, but when I peeled the tape off a small amount of the paint around/over it rippled on both sides and it came out a bit choppy on the sides. What can I do to re-do this the correct way?

I used about 3-4 coats of black and 2 clear.

Paint thin layers and on the last coat pull of the tape you edged it with really quickly so the paint won't have time to fully set-up. You won't have this problem.

So I should sand it all down and redo it pulling off the tape quickly after the last coat?
Thanks for the help

Correct....Do light coats if your rattle canning it, they dry much quicker so you can apply more coats quicker basically and removed the tape quicker. I didn't have this problem because I was in a paint booth, and the paint I used sets up differently.

So been debating on the EVO mod. Do I want a satin black for both bars? or a gloss black? leaning more towards satin but unsure.

going to have it sent out and professionally painted.

Satin looks awesome. I had the choice between satin, flat, or gloss when I painted it. Satin FTW!

I will agree...debating on how to paint my bowtie though...either red with chrome trim or black with chrome trim, or just all black?
