Perfect temp and time for headlights in oven

Well just like the title says im wanting to know what the perfect temp and time is for the headlight in the oven. I did actually use the search button and got several different answers so im just trying to find out what some of you ppl that have recently painted your headlights did. Trying to get an average temp and time from this because i plan on doing this Sunday.

Thanks, Dustin

Just did mine about 2 weeks ago. 200F for about 20 min. I've read of guys going hotter for less time but i'm not taking the chance of melting my headlights

I do ~230ish for about 10mins.

I made the mistake of "getting busy" while doin a head light and I warped a reflector in one

225 for 10 mins is the recommended time. Make sure you use a cookie sheet or something the headlights can sit on so its not directly on the racks.

to seal is just put it back in the oven for 20 min at 200 and i quickly put a small bead of rtv sealant on and held it together tight with packaging tape. never had condensation in my light for months (i used to get it when the headlight was oem haha)

I cleaned like 50% of it out so when I placed the lens back in I would be sure to get a good seal. Then put a nice clean bead on the outside edge

I always dampen a towel and place it on top of the cookie sheet. I don't like metal to plastic touching in 200+* oven.

I cook mine for 20mins at 210*. Always worked perfect to get apart in one shot.

yea i actually spent a little time digging it out with a screwdriver but spend maybe 15 min on that and then heat it up, use sealant and then assemble and tape
