Plasti Dip interior pieces

i just bought 2 cans of plasti dip and will be doing the interior pieces, evo mod, and whatever else my imagination helps me come up with. i just wanted to know if anyone has plasti dipped their interior pieces? ive searched and havent found anything.

Edit: Well seeing as how I haven't gotten a yes from anyone, I will use my car as the test subject to see what the interior will look like. Ill be removing all the trim pieces later today and hopefully have them sprayed by tonight. Ill keep you guys updated with plenty of pics.

prob not because its a dull finish....unless you top it with a clear, but still wouldn't come out piano black I wouldn't think. would need some real automotive clear coat.

I actually like the flat black color on cars. I think it'll actually turn out pretty good. Only way to find out is to do it.

I did search and came up empty. All I could find was plenty of plasti dip evo mod threads. Either way I'm doing it.

Wink

Ok so iremoved all the panels I was going to plasti dip and instead of spraying them all, I only sprayed one panel and it turned out rough just like BlackARCA06 said it would. Here are a few pics.

My next question is would it actually turn out smooth if I sand down the silver off the pieces? Some of them have a lot of chunks of silver missing on them anyway.

if you are going to sand down the silver anyway and cross the line of irreversability, you might as well just spray paint it with black enamel..

No sanding it will not make it smooth. plasti dip is meant to be textured.

Well now that I peeled off the plasti dip, I DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF PLASTI DIP ON INTERIOR PIECES! This is the outcome of using it on the interior pieces.

Now I have no choice but to sand and spray with enamel. Oh well!

I plasti-dipped my entire wing blade and peeled it all off in one sheet cause I fucked it up, you have to apply this **** on thick with one coat, you cant treat it like normal spraypaint with little thin coats if you want it to peel off, and they have to be super clean.

idk if its because the exterior parts that get plasti dipped regularly by everyone have the clear coat as a protective barrier between the paint and the plasti dip or what. we all know that the silver paint used by GM for the trim isnt good at all.

i sanded my interior peices then used plastic primer then once it dried i wet sanded it and it was very smooth then i used flat black acrylic enamel and put 3 good coats on it and they turned out flawless. almost looks factory. been like that for a good 6 months now and not a single chip!

i agree. but the reason for me trying plasti dip is because of the fact that you can peel it off if you dont like it and i wanted to see what the interior would look like black.
