Polished 18's

Today a Black on Black ss/sc cobalt was sold at work. It came in and it striked me as being odd. It had 18 inch polished ss wheels. I had noo clue they came like that, is that a new option?

yea, the '07's have a high polish wheel option available. Wonder how much that ran the sticker up?

Mine are

I just got my 06 Cobalt SS/SC a couple weeks ago. Its got the polished 18" wheels. I went to a couple dealers to find one with them and they look great. I'll through some pics on as soon as I take a few.

The polished wheel option was added mid-year to the '06 models. It is a no-cost option. You can choose them in place of the gunmetal wheels. Personally, I like the gunmetal wheels with black or SOM (Laser Blue is all right too). I think it looks good with the darker colored cars. The high polished wheels look best with the brighter colors (Victory Red, Rally Yellow, and Ultra Silver).

At the end of the day it is just a preference. I like having the gunmetal too because it identifies the car as an SS/SC. Plus it is different than what most other cars come with. The C5 Z06 wheels had the same kind of finish as our wheels and looked really cool. The gunmetal wheels also hide break dust well. Lots of C6 Corvettes are being sold with the competition grey wheels because the look is popular.
