polishing a pulley

I have the zzp aluminum look like pulley

I never polished anything before. My question is there and solution or method to make this pulley polished/chrome effect? Thank you

well if it is painted id start my removing all the paint. stripper or whatever. then you could use like a super high grit sand paper like 1,000 + grit. and then get some mothers mag and aluminum polish and a soft rag. just hand buff it with alot of elbow grease and it will shine like chrome but maybe a lil slightly more dull than chrome. mothers can take the bottom of a aluminum coke can and turn it into a mirror. it is good sh**.

idk just stripper and mothers and a rag seem the cheapest and easiest. ive used mothers for over 13 years now
