That looks nice! Like the red. I didn't have much choice on sanding, it had metal splatter on it that need to be smoothed.

Ya know what mine did too come to think of it, right around the ECOTEC VVT raised part. You can still see it a little bit in person if you look close, couldn't get it all out all the way. But I think it turned out ok.

The red is GM color match spray paint to match my car. I MUST have a good looking engine otherwise whats the point?

Now around the coil pacs is damn near impossible to do. But I got the Mothers mini ball and I'm gonna try to get in there to do it. Do you have a buffer to do the polishing? If not oh man I sooooo recoend getting one as it makes life so much easier.

I used a 10inch orbital buffer with a terry cloth buffer pad and this awesom polish they sell at local truck stops to do mine.

cordless dremel tool with polishing kit, I have an ordital sander, but it has the cheesy velco on sandpaper pads 200 is fine, I'm using 600 to 2000 grit. Also have a buffer but its a 10". If the dremel ever charges back up we will see what it can do.

OK WARNING WARNING WARNING! Be VERY careful of the polish compounds that come with the Dremmel tool! I used them to do my Cavi's VC and they made me SICK as a dog for almost 3 days! I went to the hospital and was told my body absrbed the polish thru my fingers and thats what made me so sick. They actualy had to soak my fingers in this bath of stuff to get the polish out of my skin and it burned something bad! WERE gloves like the directions tell you to!

What brand polish do you have?

Ok Jackalope, you just need to tell me that aluminum is never going to look like chrome before I buff through to the valves..........

the dremel paste sucked anyways, got mothers billet polish

done!

Both look great guys, love the red touch Jackalope..I used Mothers mag polish on mine till it wore my arm out then decided to take the cover off and use my high speed polisher and some heavier grade compound. Its in the shop right now as soon as I get it back I'll post some pics. Keep up the great work

What a job!!

Thought I would post some pics of my cover for all to see. It is definitely a job to get it to shine that good. BlilBT yours looks great. Keep up the great work.Easiest way to do that I found is with some 1200 wet/dry sandpaper then go over it with 2000 grit ,then its time to polish with some heavy compound. As you go drop down to a lighter compound till the last time, then I hand polished it with mothers wheel polish then wax.

ok go to my gallery to look at the pics, just click the camera to the left, thanks
