Power Window Idea...

you know how our power windows have the one touch down for the drivers side?
well i think im getting a whole new driver side motor assembly bc of my accident, so how hard would it be to integrate a 1 touch button in the drivers door panel that controlled the passenger window
worst case, wouldnt it make them go down at an even speed?

or is this not feasible?

in therory it would work i think the 1 touch works with a trigger switch in the window but im not 100% sure i have seen some of the people with f150's do it before so i think its possable again not 100% sure about it on our cars if it is possable i would like to do it also

my solution would fix that too
i would use the old driver side motor, and i assume it would work just as fast

When my passanger side window stopped working whatever the dealership replaced made it so the go at the same speed. I forgot the passanger side window used to be slow.

Better make sure the driverside and pass side motors will interchange, im not so sure that they will.

The automatic down on the driverside is all in the switch. I know this from exp... my 89 Z24 wnd switch went bad and since i work at a junk yard i snagged a switch out of a late 90's cav, with a little splicing of the wires and a little trimming of the consol i upgraded my 89 cav to a 99 setup with auto rolldown driver wnd.

If some one finds a way to auto open and close the sunroof that would be great.

Our cars electrical systems are all controlled by a Body Control Module. I'm not certain, but I don't think the window switch has anything to do with it. If you put a one touch switch on the passenger door window, the BCM probably won't work with it.

Well there is only one way to find out try it!!! i'll get aroung to it this weekend weather permitting. The auto down feature is in the switch. TRUST ME the normal switch operation is a simple momentrary switch and the auto down(when you press the switch a little farther down) is a full open circut. Body control modual doesn't controll this aspect of the wnd operation check wiring diagrams of the last decade gm cars with the auto driver wnd!!! but by all means prove me wrong and i will gladly shutup wait till monday and i will get back with youall if its possible or not! maybe someone can get a part # on the driverside wnd switch

I'm tending to agree with Halfcent on this one, Nothing in the car actually runs off the switchs, the switches run to the Computer and it send a signal back....But if I'm wrong I would love to have express windows all around, including that pesky sun roof....

I can't prove you wrong because I don't have the schematics. But I know that the "last decade" of cars argument doesn't work. The Delta platform is a completely different electrical beast. In 2005, GM went with Body control modules and LAN's troughout the cars to control everything. There is a high speed and low speed Local Area Network running through your car carring signals to everything. Nothing is directly connected to a switch.

I would love to have both auto down. Let me know what you guys find out.

As for the sunroof, I hate it not being auto. My 04 Cavy was auto, why isn't this one?
