prep work for valve cover
im thinking about painting my valve cover black tomorrow, so what type of paint do u guys think would be the best. i was also wondering if a fine sandpaper would be safe to use on it to get the grit off?
if u want it to look good use a paint from a legit paint shop..u can get custom colors moxed in rattle cans for like 20$. I just did mine with a gun and it came out great. The rattle cans from a paint shop work way better than an autozone an also. Use a scotch brite pad(the red pad) to scuff it also.

Goodluck man, i wanna see finished pics if you do it
they do make an engine primer for high temp and it will say on the can..usually like 15-20 minutes but it depends on the brand...duplicolor and krylon primers usually are the fastest drying times then u have rustoleum which takes like 3 hours haha
Scotchbrite pads is what dude is talking about to sand. I deburr my parts before running them with these. Got a bunch in my garage I "borrowed" from work if you need some. Real shitty weather today, supposed to be a little better tomorrow. How is it going to go from 75 to 45 in a day. Thats messed up
