No real cons to is, good solution for those not wanting to mess with the original paint.

Much easier to plastidip!

Vinyl is much more expensive. You can plastidip a car for $300-$500 ($500 with clearcoat) vinyl wraps are usually about $900-$1400 from what I have seen.

This is true but wrapping the car comes out nicer then 90% of the plasti-dipped cars.

Especially when like the OP you are looking for a patterned wrap.

VERY true, about vinyl wrap looking nicer. Ive seen it on cars that look professionally painted costs about $1500 or so for that route.

I want to do the center section of my hood and my roof, and will do it with gloss black vinyl rather than plastidip.

You should really call around to a few places and see what they say.

We may be able to estimate the amount you'll need but are by no means pros and would only be talking out of our asses.

Give a few shops a call and see what they have to say. There are ALOT of options when it comes to materials, and shop rates can be all over the place.

What do you like?

That's really all that matters in the end.

People here can hate it or love it and that wont matter since they don't have to live with it.

It's your car, do what you like and enjoy it.

In giving opinions tho I love reds lol

get some samples man. blue carbon would be hideous imo. good for accents maybe but not the whole car. it really depends on what you want. A lot of guyswho do wraps go with flat colors. I saw a flat white car once and fell in love

I was thinking about white until I stumbled upon the blue CF lol. I don't think I would like any matte.. It would probably be better to do white than CF blue anyway.

Blue CF on an entire car would like tacky imo.

Think about it, everyone will know it's not real carbon fiber.

Honestly though, if you like the idea of it, do it. I'd like to see what it looks like

Let us know if you figured out any prices or anything, I'm interested in vinyl wrapping too

vinyl wrap when not put on a car properly can bubble.

If your weather changes from cold to Hot, you can get bubbles even if they werent there before. I like vinyl wrap though so if you do it, make sure a pro does it.

if your going to vinyl the whole car, do a colour thats not tacky, but one that nobody has done yet. Also to note i had vinyl stripes on my car. i took them off and plastidipped them and the results are much better. and yes cold to hot weather does mess up the vinyl a bit, after 3 winters my vinyl was killed.

weather doesn't mess with vinyl..... the reason why the vinyl did whatever it did is simply because the vinyl was of a lesser grade.... most likely 3 mil..... premuim vinyl is 2 mil...... and yes 1 mil will make a huge difference in quality.... premuim vinyl is usually warrantied for 7 yrs outdoor..... garbage vinyl or 3 mil in this case is usually said to be good for 3 yrs indoor.... maybe to be good for 2 yrs outdoor if lucky..... just correcting misinformation.....
