Hey everyone...

I just picked up a 06 SS S/C in Yellow. Totally an impulse buy, just drove by the dealership (on my way to take delivery of a Civic Si) and said I like that car, I think I will get that instead..

Anyway I really want to put a racing stripe (possibly 2 depending on design) and I am not having any luck finding them. Anyone have a suggestion of a place to order them. I would also love to see any pictures of a SS with them on if possible.

Finally I HATE XM.... I have Sirus in both of my other cars and currently a portable in the SS. Is there anyway to convert the factory radio to Sirus????

I would also like to add a backup Camera as I am used to using them, and the back end is a bit hard to see when backing. Anyone have any experience with aftermarket ones or a recommendation.

I think they do make something that can convert the xm and sirius. Im not sure where to get it but I did see it online one day. But i have no idea about the backup camera or stripes.

 

First... Congrats on the SS! I'm sure you'll like it a lot.

Second... racing stripes = rice ... maybe you should have bought that Honda?

Third... I'll agree... XM sucks... I believe that there is a company making conversions for the XM factory kits, dunno any details though. I don't really like the idea of paying for music.

Fourth... a backup camera wouldn't be a bad idea... maybe down in the bumper or even replace the trunk lock with one. Again... don't know of anyone who's tried it.

Other than that... enjoy the new car!

 

Funny thing is both my SS Camero and my Corvete had racing stripes and I always associate them with Chevy. I did not really want the ricer look, its just that I love the yellow I got, but I would like to break it up a little. I was thinking about one stripe off center in black.

Anyone have any ideas about the XM thing let me know. Also my Murano has a backup camera built in and it is a small camera mounted about the rear license plate. I guess I will check ebay and see what is out there.

Oh yeah another ? gonna get the windows done this week and wondering what a fair price is. Any input would be appreciated.

 

Racing stripes would probably look good depending on how you do it, i wouldn't know where to look to find them.

I was thinking that GM made a decal kit for the Cobalt. It was the "Xtreme" decals.

do it the right way and get them done either at a paint shop or at a place that does decals. dont buy cheap stick ons they will either change color in the sun or peel off. get them painted or done professionally.

 

o and xm is better than sirius because of opie and anthony IMO. 202 for those who dont know

 

Agreed. O&A and XM202, no other channel beats it!

As for XM, I wasn't going to get a car unless it had XM already in it. Luckily at the dealer I went to, all the SS/SCs had XM installed already! I like how small the XM antenna is, it's just as small as the one that came with a XM Roady2 that I bought a year ago. I just wish they would have installed it in front of the sunroof. In the back, the signal might cut out occasionally.

 

for me it is all about Howard Stern and Playboy channel. Both are great entertainment.

So if I buy the decals from Cobalt Addiction do you think they will peel off? I wil definently have them installed. I know that I would really mess it up and I am completely **** about my vehicles.
