sorry rice but im sure theres more demand for bowties vs mirror caps... so it sorta makes more sense to do that mold first befor the caps

Just outta curiosity since I am new to this stuff. How would spray foam work for making molds for little things? I seen some molds and they usually are what looks to be made with fiberglass mesh and resin. Seems like the idea of spay foam would work good as long as you have a good release agent.

if i remember correctly polyester resin will eat the foam. epoxy might not but idk (and i could be completely wrong... if so my bad)

I could see different chemicals eating at the foam. Thinking though if you got a decent mold could line it with some kind of sealant that won't harm it and will protect it from the other chemicals. Might have to try some experiments.
