It's all in the cutoff!

I had some 10k and didn't like it at all. Got 6 k and 3 k for inspection purposes only and 6 k fogs.

It was just the bare projector sitting on a stool, I was playing with the sharpness and color, I didn't have it mounted on anything. These are the Mini H1s that buyhids.com sells, with a very small modification. My camera isn't picking it up because it's dim, but the cutoff color is almost 5 inches thick. I love it.

The key to minis is to remove the washers on the top two screws that hold on the lens holder. Leave the locking washer, but remove the thin flat washer. It removes the slight bowing the cutoff has, and increases color a little bit along the center.

Looks blue but isn't, that's like giving you a steak that taste like chicken. Hey, at least it looks like that 30 dollar steak you just paid for!

I dig the illumination of blue. I see far enough, any brighter and I feel like it's too bright. Even with projectors they manage to get into peoples eyes. No such thing as a perfect road.

I have 6K in my retros and clear lenses/spacers. Talk about a nice blue at the cut-off.

And this is what they look at when your eyes aren't in the cutoff line, nice pure white.

Anything above 6k is pointless. It's like driving in rain with candles lit in your headlights. You aren't going to see ****.

Everyone who wants color because of OEM hids; it's all in the lens itself, not the BULB!

BAHHH, gotta have 14k hids to look like a BMW!

Fail.

Pretty sure I see just fine in the rain at night. Better than my stock halogens. Better than my stockers with HIDs...I'm sure a true retrofit would be better...but these Gen4's are just fine.

Gen4 has a nice light output? my gen1 headlight sucked with light output even with hids. they made a horrible pattern and threw no light down the middle of the road for me, it was all off to the sides.

Everyone needs to chill out about 12000K HIDS being no good. They're fine, if not GREAT. Light output freaks gives me the chills. It's a style, you aren't going to die because you can't see 2 miles in front of you.

6k low beams and 6k's in the driving lights.

Definitely like it. Though I want to go retrofit with some 6k 55w hids
