I figure I can sell my gen 4's with hids for a little over 200 which would cover the cost of retros

10-12K is purple. 30K is in the UV area of the light spectrum.

Not really, if you do it yourself it's about the same price as aftermarket projectors, and a plug and play kit in the stockers doesn't even compre to a retro in terms of quality and brightness.

I would have done retros to my stockers if I hadn't broken all the damn tabs off the bottom. Gm couldn't have made those things any more flimsy.

I just bought and installed 6k heads in my gen4s and 6k fogs.
The aiming was still decent from my time with halogens in there, but I wouldn't mind re-aligning them and getting them a bit further down the road.

Why do people purposely buy bulbs that are so bright thatt they blind other drivers? Its so childish and just stupid. The amount of times I have been driving on the highway and someone from the opposite direction has those HIDs and I can't see ****.. Its dangerous and really annoying. / rant

^^That's usually from dumbasses who don't know how to aim their lights. I come across many a person who looks as if they have their highs on when in fact it's their lows, they're just not even close to being aimed properly.

That's usually because they don't do them right. Aftermarket setups are almost never as bright as oem setups are, and yet the aftermarket ones are the ones that blind everyone. That's because the people who do aftermarket setups don't do retrofits like they should, and they just throw in hids, and don't attempt to aim them properly.

True at people lacking the ability to aim their headlights drives me nuts! On another note you would not have happened to been on market street and mcclurg road about a week ago at the red light with another black ss sitting in the other lane tommy?

I have never been brighted and I have my headlights aimed to hit most cars bumpers at about 15 feet away. So its a massive upgrade for me and doesnt blind others. Much better with the 4th gens and dual 35w 6k kits.

I don't really remember, but if it was a black ss with gunmetal tc wheels it was me for sure.

That's just the dipshits who put hids in there stock housings. Hids are meant for projectors and anybody who puts them in reflector housings should lose their liscense.

Hey, does your cutoff look like it's slanted? Mine does sometimes, and I have yet to figure out how to correct it.

Mine seems like it slants up to the right.

The cutoff on my Gen4's is actually pretty darn crisp. Definitely not slanted...did you break the tabs on the bottom or something?

You can still aim with HIDS in your reflector housing. I did it and I don't blind anyone. I get props all the time on how good they look because they tame and pointed down like they're supposed to. Nobody says it gets in their eyes or blinds them

But projectors are much better whether aftermarket or retrofit.
