Exclamation Remove Debadge Outline?

I'm trying to remove the debadge outlines from the trunk and Goo Gone isn't cutting it. Any suggestions?

isopropyl rubbing alcohol/water [1:1 mix], claybar, and/or bug and tar remover.

Tried both the clay bar and alcohol solution. They both got rid of the outlines, but under where the Chevy emblem was the paint is discolored. It's almost like a cream color.

That's because there was never any wax under the badge.

Use a paint cleaner, swirl remover, polish, and then hit it with a coat of wax. Orbital buffer works best.

Good luck.

Use a hairdryer and heat it and get some string and peal it off slowly. BAM!!! They come off and no scratches if done right.

It's tough to get away with no scratches because there is nothing protecting the paint underneath that badge. I used a fishing line and a heatgun, but still had clearcoat scratches that I had to remove with an orbital when I removed the goo.

Thanks again for the help. I used a hairdryer and fishing line also to remove the badges. I plan on doing a full car wash and detail tomorrow after work. I washed the whole back tonight to get rid of all of the products used to remove the adhesive.

I used Oops/Goof Off to remove the dirt that had collected around it for the past 4 years. And of course since friction with a microfiber was applied it left a rubbed/scratched look to it. Easily fixed with buffing.

Absolutely not! The compound will scratch the **** out of the clear coat.

A mild-moderate abrasive polish, followed by a top coat of wax/sealant is all you need to do.

I used WD-40, my thumb nail, and a damp cloth.
