Removing the bumper grille to expose the inter cooler more?

Does anyone have any problems with bugs or things getting caught in your inter cooler when you remove the bumper grille?

I wouldn't recommend removing it, it is there for a reason. Without that grill a rock falling off a truck on the highway could be the end of that intercooler.

It does not disturb airflow enough to make any difference whatsoever.

I've had mine off for 70000 miles with no significant damage I mean it certainly has some dings in it but no holes I just did it because I think it looks better

If bugs are hitting the front of the car they will get stuck in the intercooler plenty but a brush or pressure washer makes quick work of them

that would have to be one big ass rock to put a hole in the intercooler.

Not so much hole as a ding. Small cracks are easier to develop than one would think.

If a plastic grill can save me a couple hundred bucks then by all means I'm keeping it.

Essentially what I was implying, unless you are driving through a canyon and Wiley coyote happened to be there and pushed a ****** boulder off a cliff onto the road.

Wrap some aluminum screen material around it. That will solve the bug problem and it's not really noticeable.

Some people run a black mesh bugscreen instead. From a distance looks like exposed but still blocks some bugs

I want to know this as well. I have searched every wheel outlet online that I know of and can't find anything that looks remotely similar.

It makes no performance difference but you can tell when an intercooler has had no front grill.....

The only reason to take the grill off is to say to everyone 'look at me, I'm boosted!' It's sort of a tuner cult thing.

I keep mine on personally.

with a stock ic yeah no reason to take it off.. but if you have aftermarket with the brand, or even SS or something on it, well why not... flaunt it if you got it
