I think you're missing the point, a "rice" mod, in my opinion, is doing something that has no performance value, is purely aesthetic and could directly cause damage to the vehicle. I am all for appearance mods, but removing the grill purely to show people you have an IC is silly to me. If there wasn't a potential for harm to be done by removing the grill I would be all for it, but I am a firm believer of Murphy's law.

The only way to keep damage from happening would be to put a steel plate down there, after all it is just plastic. If someone removes it that does not at all make it "rice".

 

50k miles and mine is still going strong and looks pretty new still as well. I was just stating my opinion. One man's "rice" is another man's treasure.
