Agree with omi on engine bay.

Paint looks good from the pics I do spy peel on the doors, nothing you can't Wetsand and compound out.

Firewall will be painted to match the car just havent done it yet. It did orange peel on me, im wetsanding and buffing it all out when its together. Ive got 3 heavy coats of clear so more like 5-6 regular coats, enough clear to cut and buff for days lol

i have alot of respect for those who can do this themselve, and make it look good. bodywork is an art.

 

theres usually orange peel in anyones clearcoat especially painting a vertical surface. its part of the reason I paint cars totally apart on rotating stands so that when its time to bake the clear I lay the parts flat so the clear levels during baking.

painted the housings for my headlights



was gonna color match, but decided on black to go with the wheels.

if anyones interested my old headlight housings are for sale $100 obo



from a distance they look like black housing headlights, they get all kinds of attention at car shows.

 

car is semi-back together, wetsanding and buffing it next week. a few panels need repainted, but for now they'll work.





im super happy with the color, it shifts from black to purple like crazy. think im gonna do bright yellow calipers for some pop but thats how she sits now.

 

im just not huge on black wheels, the rest looks amazing though.

yea the headlights are junk, but its all i have right now. im gonna try to clean up the outside of the lenses and see if that helps for now. ive got some retros in my garage i just need new lenses and a new hid kit so ill have em in eventually

Car looks good man. I think those in silver would look very clean, the black is nice as well.

As for the lenses Wetsand them with 2000 then clear.

 

Looks great! I would suggest painting the plastic on the mirrors, would make it look a lot smoother. Takes a lot of work getting those plastic pieces painted correctly though, but i'm sure you can do it!

 

The plastic on the mirrors pop out and im buffing it right now hopefully itll be done tomorrow ill get some shots after its done and post em up
