Retro double k2 tails installed

Well, the i finally put on the first mod i wanted to do to my cobalt.

two sets of k2motor taillights. one set is destroyed in the process of making these. colodude18 invented the wheel on getting this idea rolling, and made this set for me.

the inners funtion the same as the outers. i.e., when the turn signal is on, they both blink.

i have this all paired with the led board 3rd brake. this one was a buyhuds one.

anyway, pics. i am in love!

brakes off...

brakes on

how did you do your wiring?

just tap the inners into the tail light harness?

i went out and bought a harness that im going to tap into so i dont have to tap into my tail light harness. i have custome led tails made. had them hooked up last year but there were quick splices involved and there were so many it was a mess on the stock wiring.
so i took it all off and bought these harness's that plug into the stock bulb socket and have a plug for a bulb on the other end. im just going to tap into that rather than the stock harness

That's pretty cool for people that are not comfortable about splicing the existing harness! Linky? I might offer this as an option to these lights.

It's hard to tell the difference between brakes off and on in these pictures. We need a vid of someone stepping on the brakes!

sure i will make a vid.

colodude was a boss and sent me a nice 7ft of wire loom and quick connects. i opted out of using the quick connects and simply soddered the wires and covered them up with professional electric tape

and its not that i wasnt comfrotbol. i had them hooked up like that but i disconected them because it was a mess on the wiring. i hate those quick splices expecialy on the factory wiring because its such a small guge.
did the same for resistors on my switchbacks went to disconect them and the pinch cut the harnes right in freaking half!

so im going to hook the tails up with these new harness's should work good

Jelly and more jelly. I see these in my future possibly.

Colodude18, can these be made/hooked up where the inners are on all the time and don't blink like the outers when the turn signal is put on.

Hurry up, can't wait to see lol

All I have to say is my LED 3rd brake light kept pissing me of so I sold it. I originally had one out of a Monte Carlo/Impala. The wires weren't long enough and it kept coming unplugged and at one point I didn't have cruise control because of it. I then bought a BuyHIDs one and couldn't keep the damn thing in place, I used 3m tape and it didn't secure it to well. The board always ended up crooked. I suppose I could have used epoxy, but I really didn't want it to be permanent.
