Retrofit aiming question

Hey everyone, long time creeper first time poster.

I'm in the process of doing a retrofit on my cobalt and wondering how to properly aim them. From what I can gather from searching the reflector is just placed on a flat surface and you simply shine the projector on a wall and make sure it's flat. Is this right?

Thanks for all your input

yes, although its best to tighten the locknut and leave it a little bit loose, to fix it to the headlight. then plug in all the wires and reinstall the headlight minus the lense, housing, just the reflector and the projector. line them both up and voila. rotate as needed then align vertically as needed. once everythings buttoned up, completely tighten the nut, and jb weld if you want the result to be permanent.

jb weld seems the easiest, with that said i never used it however i installed up/down and left/right adjusters.
If its secure and wont move while the epoxy stuff cures i dont see an issue, theres a few ways to do it out there.

no the OP

if OP is using MH1's then mounting is pretty darn simple and no jbweld or epoxy is necessary at all

will do!, this is my second build. last is in my 8thgen si i did a tsx projector with clear lens and s2000 shroud.with the si i needed to make a jig to aim them due to the shape of the headlights. the cobalt sounds much easier (thank god)
