Reverse lights issue
Reverse lights issue
so i was backing up at night the other day and noticed that the reverse lights were not on, so i thought no big issue probally just the fuse, checked it, its fine. so i think maybe both reverse lights burned out at the same time, unlikly but hey it happens. nope both lights are fine. brake lights work, so do back turn signals. anybody?
yep there is power to the harness, i popped it into reverse, had my buddy stand behind the car, and backed over him, ha jk, i pulled it in and out of reverse a couple time and still no dice
Reverse light switch, on the tranny above the drivers side axle - make sure it's still connected.
If still connected then take off the connector and jumper the contacts in the connector (key must be in run position iirc), reverse lights should go on.
If they do come on when jumpered, replace the switch, reconnect the connector and test - should be good to go.
If they don't come on when jumpered (rut roh), have fun tracing where the problem is in the wiring
edit: Just rereading - you have power to the sockets, new bulbs but no lights???
Double check that they are seated fully, they kind of "click" in, easy to not get them all the way in.
Then try all that ^^^^ other stuff
