Roof racks

Are there any available for an 05 SS? Transporting my bike, surfboard and luggage isn't easy with this thing.

Thule apparently makes one for the sedan, but they don't say it fits the coupe.

BUT, I've been researching, and according to Yakima, the parts needed to mount on a sedan are the same as the coupe.

When I can get back on the bike again, I'm going to order the parts from Thule for the four door and make it fit. The reason I want to go with Thule is that their aero bars rock and I already have had a rack from my VW...

Yakima makes one for the coupe. It gets pricy though...

Q Clips or some **** are the attachment at the door jams. Problem is that the clips on eachside are 16 inches apart, It would look super goofy!!

I just need something for my bike and snowboard. grrrr

And Yakima also makes a trunk rack. Problem with that is that It was rubing the paint so I took it back..

As long as you get a fairing it's not too bad, gives it some personality. But, it's personal preferance and I think alot of people don't like it. Way better than a trunk mount is all I have say. To each his own...

I was looking at the Thule and Yakimas but will probably just get a hitch and a hitch-mount carrier for my bike. I've got a couple cars that I would probably carry it on and that way I can just add a hitch and move the carrier from car to car. I don't think a roof rack is that bad if you actually use it, but they do tend to cause some noise, hurt economy, and can be a pain to hoist heavier bikes onto and off of the car (with greater risk of damaging the paint). If you also want to haul a surfboard and don't want to carry the board in the car (if you can) then the roof rack is probably the only option.
