Is it safe?

I recently just got my hands on a front lip. I went on the GM site to order the clips to hold the lip on, and well I wasn't happy. I really don't want to pay 40 bucks worth of stupid metal clips. It's a rip off. So I was wondering, can I just 3M tape it on instead? My buddy was telling me that the RK Sport 3 piece spoiler uses 3M tape. And some people 3M tape wings on. And swears it's real strong stuff. I would get the 4 push pins for the front of it just in case should it have the possibility of coming off, it won't come completely off, but hang. So would it be safe?

These clips: https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...5/dsc01648.jpg

Do they have a certain name? I need to know what to tell the guy or else they won't have any clue what I need.

Bend them yourself. That's what I ended up doing for the ground effects on a Camaro and they're holding on fine. Doesn't look all that complicated, plus if you do a **** poor job no one will notice.

Any sturdy metal will do.

Anyways, trim tape will be fine. It should be "3M molding tape" at autozone... should be with the body working section.

And yes, it is rather strong...

Alright I think I'll go with the 3M idea. Cause I really didn't want to cut my bumper anyway. Just everyone pray it doesn't fall off

if you really dont want to get the clips then 3m tape is your only option. do the clips in the middle and probably do some rivets at the ends. then it surely wont fall of

You need 2 screws(2 screws get reused from factory bumper attachment points), 4 nuts and bolts and we used some window ribbon after cutting off all of the tabs.

Ok I'm a little confused. I know about the 4 push pins. Where to the two screws go? On the ends? And nuts and bolts? I though it was just 4 push pins and 12 clips? Can you get me a picture?

I think he means the clips at the ends. But they're located on the bottom.

Ah. I'm going to have my friend's dad paint it for me, and he said he'd be able to get it on for me.
