scratched driver and passenger windows
scratched driver and passenger windows
from what i have been able to look up a lot of cobalts have suffered from this, scratches on the driver and passenger side windows from bits of sand and debris that get caught between the window and the rubber stripping on the door.
4 months after i got my cobalt, the landscapers at my old work blew a crap load of dust and sand onto my car and a whole bunch got stuck in the window stripping. of course i wasnt aware of this problem then, and after listening to this death squeal coming from my window when rolling down, noticed i had 4 deep parallel scratches going down the window.
my question is, will GM cover replacing the window at all if i am still under warranty?
and what can be done to add in some sort of scraper that will keep sand and debris from grinding into and scratching the window when rolling up and down?
i saw a few other posts on this but nothing on whether GM will cover this or not. apparently they made a recall on 06 Impalas for this exact same reason according to another user, but he never said whether or not he could use that info to have them replace his scratched windows.
basically, my windows look like turd with all the scratches and i'd like to go the cheapest route possible (ie GM replaces it under warranty) rather than buying new windows and replacing them myself.

yep thats what im going to try. hopefully theyll just be cool about it, i have to imagine some other cobalt owners have bitched about this to gm, as it happens on every model cobalt.
is there anyway to create like a custom scraper for **** that gets stuck inbetween the window?
