Screw the cobalt antenna

So today i got home from work, had a nice package waiting for me, it was my shorty antenna i orderd, so i go to take the old one off, and i figured i would have to use a wrench to get it off even though it just screws on, well 25min later, and 15 curse words it still wont come off, the whole bracket and everything just keeps spinning with it along with the bottom part, screw off my ass, anybody else have this problem? how did you get it off?

i never had that problem with mine. I would open the trunk and try to locate where the antenna comes in and use some pliers to keep the entire thing from spinning and then use a wrench on the antenna and turn each in opposite directions until it breaks loose.

That's about the only thing you can try. Mine came off with ease.

Mine did the same damn thing when I was trying to take it off. I'm still waiting for my shorty antenna but I figured I'd see how hard it was going to be before it arrived. I might just take the whole thing off since I don't listen to the radio, I'm not sure yet.

Last time when I was messin around with it, the whole antenna peice would lift up, so it looked like you could possibly get a pair of pliers on that rubber part surrounding the antenna and then unscrew it. Not sure though.

Didn't have that problem with my stock antenna, but now my shorty is on too tight and it won't come off. I don't know how it's screwed on so tight.
