Shave trunk lock? how?

How do you shave the trunk lock? Do we just need to weld a piece of metal in its place and then bondo over it to make it smooth?

Thanks for your time.

I had my trunk lock shaved and the high rise SS/SC wing shaved as well. here is a pic of the thread of when it was in the shop getting done.

they did use a piece of metal to weld the hole shut, and then they ground that smooth and blended it all in really nice and painted it. It came out awesome.

I got mine shaved, but I did it myself..I took the lock assembly out and then I took an old door I had laying around and cut out a piece of it the size of a half dollar and welded it in, smoothed it out, and painted it..I havent had any problems with it either, and you wouldnt be able to tell I even did it..It looks factory

P.S. This is an old pic of my car that I had just to show you.

that is actuall cheap for something like that. there is alot of hours in grinding/welding/filling/prep/more sanding/painting/color sanding and buffing. not to mention cost of materials.

this is probably a $500 plus job to anyone who walks in off the street.
