to put the lock assembly in you go to the dealer tell them ur vin. they make you an assembly that will fit ur key. then to put it in its kinda a bitch, if you have little mechanical ability i dnt recommend doin it urself. you have to put the assembly together then put in 7 teeth i believe it is, you put them in one at a time, then when its complete you put it in the whole then put a locking ring on it to hold it. its been a while since i did it but im pretty sure it goes just like that. wen i put on my carbon trunk im jus going to leave that part not cut out and jus use the button on the dash and fob

cuz if i could remove the keyhole latch without damaging the electronics it should work just by poping the trunk? dang this sucks cause i really want to get the trunk without the third brake light and keyhole it looks so much better. i just dont wanna spend a whole bunch of money to fix the lock assembly to work off my trunk button. i would almost rather just get a regular cf trunk to avoid this.

mos cf trunks come without the brake light and keyhole cutout. you have to cut it urself so jus leave it. except those parts will be recessed in the cf

i just wanna know if i mount that piece back in if it will work. cause i can make it work. the trunk popper has no connection to the keyhole the keyhole manually opens it by turning the latch the popper should just turn it by the press of a button.even if i remove the keyhole part. it shouldnt need it. sorry if i seem like a noob. i know cars im just confused about this lol

oh ur saying jus to make it look like theres a key. ya the button will still work. if you jus want that then jus remove ur old one and jus put it in there however who cares about the teeth if ur not going to use the key. on my balt right now theres not even a keylock

i shaved off the key hole on reverse lights off my trunk. i hooked the lock assembley back up without the part the key goes into and now u need to use the key fob to pop the trunk. so yes what u want to do will work.

one other thing is u want to move ur buttons that drop the back seat. cause if u lose battery power u need to be able to get to the manual pull on the trunk to pop it.

the trunk popper still works if the lock part is not in there just bolt the black latch part into the trunk and it works fine
