have you ever done any bodywork?

did you use a cutting wheel and remove the old portion of the door under the handle and weld in a peice of sheetmetal?

looks like you just filled the hole with bondo or fiberglass.
(that will crack and fall out if its that thick)

Anything thicker than like 1/8" of bondo is a big no no.

they actually warped the door a little in doing the shaving thats why it looks like it does. it will be redone with metal i assure you lol. and its really not much bondo in that part right now

I shaved my handle's, antenna, running lights(on the rear bumper), inner taillights, 3rd brake light, keyhole, and the wing... and i love it, but then, i don't own a vehicle that's not shaved so.... but it's def worth it in my opinion...

You do know your car is illegal without that rear side marker right? Especially with that tinted ring around your tails.
It also doesn't have any reverse lights, thats illegal.
Its also probably illegal without a 3rd brake light...

Is that bodywork done? Is it supposed to be all scratched up looking like that?

Who is telling you this crap? Maybe where you live, but here you can have 35% all around legally (no OEM tint is like that) and you can have a aftermarket exhaust as long as it is under a certain decibel level and it still has emissions equipment (cats)

I wasn't sure about the 3rd brakelight, But I know for a fact that you need sidemarkers and reverse lights.

The reason I mention the tinted ring is because you can see the taillight from the side when you don't have that dark ring. Without that ring you could probably get away with it. Otherwise I see tickets in your future. Even worse, they would be fix-it tickets, meaning you won't be able to drive your car till you pay to fix it.

well, in my own defense...
1. i have a 3rd brake light out of a 97 blazer in my rear window...
2. the taillight ring is NOT illegal... with the brake lights lit, the sides can still be seen
3. Reverse lights are not a MUST anywhere, the only MUST is that if they are there, they have to work, but if there not there, your fine
4. the body work is at the guide coat stage... the entire car still has to be sanded b4 paint... and i'm not ready to paint....

And just exactly why are you so worried about whats illegal on my car.... you planning one giving me a ticket.... Or better yet, Do you live in VA? Do you kno our laws..? AND if i was really worried about tickets, i would drive an everyday run of the mill stock ass car..... alot like yours....

I have done many handle jobs. I am actually doing one on a 77 for truck. It's around 1500.00 to do two doors if you have a good body shop do it. I work at a restoration shop and thats around what we charge. as for the door warping it does happen but you need to streighten it out in the metal before filler like someone said more that an 8th inch of mud is a big no no

Well no matter what you do you still end up putting some filler in. Everyone thinks filler is so horrible it's not if you do it correct. Every muscle car you ever see is mud in it weather they say it does or not it does.
