I have been looking into getting a short antenna and I like the looks of the on listed in this ebay auction...Does anyone else have this? My questions are...

Is reception the same as stock?
And has anybody every dealt with this ebay seller?

I bought my small one from Xantenna on ebay for like 14bucks. I belive the billet antennas have no reception. I noticed the seller doesn't mention anything about reception either. I lost very little reception.

The AntennaX website advertises that their shorty antennas not only maintain the same reception as your stock antenna, it may actually even improve it. And for me, that was the case. I got the Eurostyle 13.5", and I didn't lose any reception. In fact it may have improved for me. I wouldn't say it's going to be necessarily be the case for you, but I hope my claim shows that their antennas aren't just crap. They work.

You can get a decent one at either Canadain Tire or Walmart in Canada for about $10. I got mine at Walmart for $10.97, 13" by Soche and it screwed right on, no adaptors.

I live in Edmonton and so far have noticed no reception difference. If you leave the city that may be a different story though!

I unno, I really like the look of these ones, almost as much as I like the look of the S2000 one.

The thing I like about these billet ones is that you can get them anywhere from 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 inches. And I would def gor for the 6.

I just would rather not lose the function of my radio. I asked the seller and we shall see what he responds, but I def rather a unbiased opinion from someone who bought one.

Take your stock antenna, cut it down to whatever length you want, grind down the end or put the ball back on, repaint it, put it back on, I started off with a shorty from Pep boys, but it eventually started to crap out on me and I wasnt gonna go buy another one, So i took the stocker, cut it down to about 7" grinded the top and rounded it off and painted it and am about to put it back on here in the next couple days. I think it looks good especially if you dont want to dish out the cash.

Just put in my antennaX from ebay also.
Works well, better reception than not using one at all, which is what I was doing. (don't listen to radio much)

AntennaX is the way to go. That's who I baught mine from. The ball fell off of mine when I got it, and I sent them an email and they are shipping me a brand new one. They actually back there product unlike similar shorty antenna company's. And I didn't lose any reception what so ever. If anything I gained.

TAKE your stock antenna and do what i did. All you need is a set of bolt cutters and sander (dremmel) and some metal (outdoor) spray paint (any color you like). Cut the antenna down to a nice about 13 inch height. sand down the tip and remove the ball from top of antenna. put the ball back on the new sized antenna after you sanded down enough to make it fit. then sand and paint the antenna to your likings. took about 2 days. (because of prep and paint and going to school)
